Today I left behind the hills and valleys of southwestern Wisconsin for the more open plains of Iowa. Destination: Maquoketa Caves State park. My friend Morgan gave me a heads-up on this location, and I gotta say, worth a detour.

The thing about caves, though? Caves inherently mean going down. And, of course, that means coming...back...up. In such a scenario a person might think, "I wonder if it was really such a good idea to do a workout yesterday that included squats?" Just sayin'.

Camping Must-Haves of the Day

LED String Light

The main light has a compartment that acts as a spool for the string of fairy lights. I ran mine from handle-hold to handle-hold and back again right over my head where I sleep, so it's super convenient to reach up and click the light on or off.

Rechargeable Head Lamp

Middle of the night and have to go to the bathroom in the middle of nowhere? 'Nuff said.
