Going Home to Elgin, IL

And just like that, it was time to go home. Back up the Columbia River Gorge, through Eastern Oregon, into a corner of Eastern Washington, (overnighting in an Anytime Fitness parking lot), across the northern part of Idaho this time, a brief wet morning at Glacier National Park (most of the roads were still closed due to snow), across the northern part of Montana, overnight at a North Dakota Walmart, most of a day troll-hunting in Detroit Lakes, Minnesota, overnight just west of Minneapolis, then one more day of driving through Minnesota and Wisconsin before arriving home to a beautiful post-thunderstorm rainbow. Phew.
Thank you all for coming on this journey with me. It was an adventure I will never forget. Not gonna lie, though, it is pretty sweet to be back in my own bed again. 😉

Camping Must-Haves of the Day

Hipcamp
This app/website is the Airbnb of campsites. This is where I booked most of my campsite stays. Sooo helpful.
The Dyrt
This app was super helpful in particular for searching out places to park overnight for free. This included public lands and business parking lots.
