Billings, MT and Yellowstone National Park

6/6/20251 min read

About the time I was leaving Iowa and considering my trajectory forward, I started looking at Montana and decided to reach out to a college classmate from Billings. We've had periodic contact with one another through Facebook in the last 25 years, but hadn't actually seen each other in that time. It turned out that Laura was planning on driving her visiting pastor through Yellowstone a couple of days from when I reached out, so she invited me to stay at her house and go with them.

We began by driving through Beartooth Pass, entered Yellowstone through Red Lodge, and came out again at Gardiner. The drive to and through the park made for a long day, but it was a glorious one. Good company, good weather, and hundreds of "Wow"s later, we made it back to Billings and promptly got tucked in for the night.

Laundry Sheets

To save space I packed only a couple changes of clothing, which means that laundromats are a thing on this journey. I chose to pack these sheets in a couple of different freezer bags which makes them really easy to tuck in available spaces AND keeps them dry until I need them!
